Crooked Tongues x Foothills

They say that in bad times; a recession for example, the real hearty brands have the best opportunity to shine. And amongst all the tough rides that the streetwear market, (especially here in the UK) have dealt with, Crooked Tongues have managed to thrive, standing tall, leading the way in this sneaker loved world.
Working alongside éS, The Foothills Project is a ‘back to before the basics’, hardworking, outdoor adventure concept, consisting of a jacket, backpack, cap and shoe that comes in three colourways.

Now available in store, Crooked Tongues adds another success to their collaborations.
And with the launch party at Slam City Skates last Friday (following from their bbq (of the Year), Crooked Tongues seem set to soar!

Pictures here, and the Rod Laver adidas V.A collection in store here. Infact, the whole store is stocked agreeably well.

Search engines

You know how it goes; you’re looking for some information on something on the net, typing in all the relevant words, going to all the relevant search engines, to find nothing! Nudda!!!
Well, today wasn’t like that. Today, all the information I needed on a variety of some very obscure things came up straight away, with the correct websites too :-) And even better, when I typed in adidas silver by mistake, I got presented with these:

New Balance x Staple PIGEONS

The Nike Dunk SB “Pigeon” by Staple Design in 2005 will always be one of the most notorious sneaker releases in history. NYC saw riots over the sneaker with the pigeon embroidered on the heel. And has become one of the more expensive sneaker's to date.

Attempting to repeat this huge success, Staple designs have teamed up with New Balance on their 575 model to create the “PigeDoinon”.
Using almost the same colourway as seen on the infamous pigeon Dunks, an off-white colour has been used as the basis for the shoe rather than the traditional darker grey. Furthermore the shoe don's a special tag on the tongue, along with, of course the pigeon shit on the inner sole.

Limited to 1000 pairs ONLY!! this release is sure to see yet more roadblocks'.

Crooked Tongues BBQ!

Sunday's CT bbq was a smash hit. In between eyes googling at the plentiful amount of hot kicks on show (people repped hard!), waiting for food (burgers and ****), drinking £1.20 beer, skanking to Acyde's rude multi genre set, checking out Y.O.B's, and n.working, i only took a few pics.

So here's a quick snaphot of the day. If you missed out....hard times!!! Be sure to be there next year!!!! A roadblock affair to the early morn'!

There really were too many crep, too many many crep!

Northampton Trainer Collection

The Trainer Collection is run by Northampton Museum and Art Gallery, home of the world's largest collection of shoes and shoe related items, and supported by the Heritage Lottery's Collecting Cultures Fund.
Having noticed that the Museum was missing an impressive sneaker collection, these guys have sinced got Lottery funding to create a Trainer Collection which is to showcase pieces ranging from golden oldies to sneaker must haves, exclusive styles to the everyman shoe.

Check out their facebook page here.

Having been asked to help with the collection and some of the up and coming events, i headed up to Northampton two friday's ago to have a look at the collection so far, see what styles that are missing, etc etc and sneaker snap!!!

The collection wasn't as big as i'd hoped BUT, most of the 1980's sneakers that had been achived were on loan, as well as the fact that these guys have got like another year to collect all the desired trainers.

So as a sneak preview of what's to come, here's just a few pics from the trip.
