Notting Hill Carnival 2008

After a few too many years of working on carnival monday, i was finally free this bank holiday monday to attend. So i put on my carnival dress, some carnival kicks, brought my camera and headed down to notting hill. I was enjoying myself so much, eating some fine jerk chicken, soca-ing to the floats, skaking out wid smokes &jokes, that i almost forgot to snap some sneakers. However, when i did start scaning i noticed something.....hardly anyone was sporting fly kicks. When i got to RAMPAGE, i had a rude awaking as to why......

WHAT THE F*#K!!! WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME!!!

I did spot some goodies though when following these guys...

Oxford Street, London W1

Doing her bit for charity! Lesson number 1,

Charity starts at home.

A-Trak, Running and Nike

Music, sports and fashion. Some of my very favorite things. So when i heard about this, my ears pricked up and my fingers starting typing.

'DJ and producer A-Trak joins forces with Nike to launch his debut record Running Man: Nike+ Original Run as the next release for the Nike+ Original Run Series. His 45-minute composition has been created specifically for runners, gradually building up as a warm-up period, incorporating a pounding groove to keep runner's going and ending with a downtempo closure for cooling down. The mix also features a show-stopping appearance by recently hyped Fool’s Gold signee Kid Cudi'.
If you aint heard of this guy, then you better!!! www.myspace.com/kidcudi

'The whole thing is part of the run up to The Nike+ Human Race, the world's largest one-day running event, where on August 31, 2008, an expected one million runners in 25 cities across the globe will partake in a 10k run, highlighting the partnership that music has with running'. Lovin the energetic and vibrant colourways (at least you'll be seen running on those early mornings and late nights)and the left and right word stitching on the inside of the tongue will definitely keep you in check...left, right, left, right, left, right

the best check

So every damm fashion website, blog, online -store, everything at the moment is telling us about this year's MUST HAVE, the checked shirt. Big checks, small checks, red &black checks, multicoloured checks, WATEVER....everything at the moment seems to be in a checked print. For me, it a bit to OTT as i dont particulaly want to be a part of a uniform (not one that's like 18 months played out) BUT i saw these and thought....hummm, maybe, i could be the rebllious one of the uniform?
What do you think? Even the flat kicks aint too bad

Adidas A-ZX Collection part 2

I recently posted a blog on the extremly exciting and MAJOR (yeah im using that word, and what?) adidas A-ZX Collection. Collaborating with significant brands and stores, creating a highly anticipated and significant collection. The second installment showcases remixes of the adidas model by i-store, o-store, just be, Kendo, Livetock, Mayor, Neighbourhood and Patta.

This shit is solid

These one's really caught my eye.

The grey, silky blue, purple and silver combination is very delightful. Girlies and fly guys i think these ones are a winner.

These Patta ones are SHOWAA!!

And one of the more intriging take's on the ZX model come from Neighbourhood. The rugged leather, boxey shape and visible tough stitching detail make the ZX 700 BOAT very striking

The final installments will be released towards the end of the year, so keep checking the blog. Collector's be sure to have kop'd all these by the time of the next batch. Good luck!!

Nike Sportwear 2

Headed down again to the new Nike Sportswear store in East london for the Grand opening party of the 1948 store. Unlike the actual opening the friday before hand, this affair was RAM. Free drinks and a good nibble selection accompanied the whos whos guest list and one day 20% off promotion, with a vast space showcasing MODE2 artistic talents of athletic stars, past and present on a grey bricked background, accompanied by a furturistic styled setting with technicaly advanced footwear .

The sneakers on display were aLOT in all senses of the word (they're stocking some hot kicks and heads were rockin some goodies) it seemed like it was a good night had by all with the usual culprits doing their savvy thing!! Check out the pics (d'ya see them andy, well do ya?) Ohh and thanks for the Hustle, Charlie....

As the 1948 store will only be with us for a limited time, make sure you pass through. Catch the screens showing the olympics

Opening Hours tues - sat 11:30- 6.30

2008 Olympics

Hi Guys!!
I know that this has nothing to do with trainers but "did you watch the 2008 Olympic opening ceromony?" It was DOPE, ALOT, SHABBY, SHOWAA, whatever you wanna call it, it was totally BAD!!! Managed to kop a few stills from the event courtesy of ATCN

London be PREPARED!!! Topping this seems highly unachievable.

Nike Sportswear

Headed down to the opening of the new Nike store in Shoreditch which showcases Nike's latest adventure, Nike Sportswear, designed for sport, remastered for life.

As if it was mandatory dress code, everyone (well, almost everyone) was rocking Nike trainers. Old, classic, customised, fresh ones, you name it, i saw it. Check the odd one out!!

Vans?!? Our suvery says...XXX...maybe he just strolled in or got the wrong address???

Sorry about the lack of pictures but 1) my battery decided to die even though im sure i had charged it the night before, and 2) a very important (and scrumptous) dinner awaited.

I was very impressed though by the Nike Dunk High Supreme Octagon Pack. These dunks (below) consist of six patent quilted leather dunks and marks one of the Nike releases created especially for the 2008 Olympic Games.
This lucky lady already had her pair....

If your liking these, then you may also be interested in the other designs that have been created in line with this Olympic pack.

NIKE CURRENT

With the Nike Air Max 90 Current doing so well and flying off the shelves in many online retailers and in stores (im sure these sneakers will be a collector's item, especially the original white/orange/black ones as previously featured), it only seemed economical sense for Nike to release some other colourways to get us excited. And with a little bit of help from some friends, these new additions are not just exciting, there pretty fantastic too.

"Working once again with three of the top names in the art/design world, Nike have teamed up with Kevin Lyons, Ben Drury and Hitomi Yokoyama for a set of the Nike Air Max 90 Current. Featuring a mesh upper and a free hybrid midsole they all include intricate insole artwork as well as custom badging".

For those of you who haven't taken to the Nike Current's, but are feeling these colourways, have no fear. The designs have also been applied to the favouite Nike Air Max 90s.

Be sure to pop down to a good stockists and have a good look at these. Pay close attention to the innersole and ankle collar of these as this is where the artwork is really at.
