Off The Rador

Sunday 12th July saw Trapstar's 'Off the Rador' event go down a STORM at Westbourne Studio's. Having dragged myself up and out of bed early times, all the way (north to west certainly aint as easy as north to east....on bus!!!!) to West London, there was definately positive (and hungover) vibes at the event. The queue for Trapstar was ridiculous as per, and was a reminder that these cats are killing it when it comes to streetwear and with a fan base....yes, i said a fanbase, showed others in the game that hard work and GOOD designs pay off.

Overall, the day was a huge sucess for all brands involved; Benjart, Ask Your Girl and Charlatan to name a few, leaving us fans, as well as those who never brought their cash, waiting in anticipation for the next opportunity to get our dirty hands on these UK streetwear goodies.

Some of the day's best sneakers snapped!!

Thanks to all that got snapped for the blog,
Peace, love and kicks.

Nicole's Bo's

A few year's back my mates boyfreind bought her these babies. Unaware of just how tuff these kicks were, i decided to school her a bit on these gems.
Debuting in 1989, the Air Trainer SC, or otherwise known as the Bo Jackson, being the athlete's signature shoe from the 90’s, features a leather and synthetic high-cut upper with padded collar, variable width lacing options for better fit, adding extra detail to the shoe, and visible heel Air-Sole unit with 'Nike' writen in bold on the heel.

Having since longed for a pair in this exact colourway, and residing to the fact that it just wasn't meant to be....i almost screamed (which would have resulted in baiting my blogging usage at work) with delight when i saw that these will be dropping soon!!!
And then got even more excited to read that these will be droppping in Footlocker stores come November. Enough time for me to wear the orange &blue ones to death before hitting the white/grey/red colourway.

Air Max Maxim 1 Video

Nice VT from Nike on the developing and re-designing of the Nike Air Max 1 to create the Air Max Maxim.

Enjoy!

Nike Air MAX-IM (IN!!!)

If you have ANY SENSE, you'll buy these once, twice, even thrice!!!

All hail, the updated version of the infamous Air Max 1. Made lighter, stronger and with more technical properties and cushioning, these babies thankfully retain many of the elements that make this model a notorious sneaker.

“We took the original Air Max 1 design brief and ran it through a present-day filter,” says Nike Sportswear Design Director Jesse Leyva" via Hypebeast creating an even more inspirational model for the Air Max 1's future.

Mister Cartoon X Nike LIVESTRONG

I have longed admired the handy work of LA tattoo artist(e) Mister Cartoon. Notorious for his amazing street inspired and clown like tattoo's, he has become the much desired and preferred tattooist of celebrity's and homeboys alike. And with pieces of work like this:

....there's no denying his artistic clout. Now putting his name to more artwork, Mr Cartoon joins forces with Nike's LIVESTRONG collection to release an Air Force 1 sneaker that gets a Mr Cartoon makeover. Continuing with the black and yellow colorway of the LIVESTRONG project, the black background gets lifted by yellow artwork, heel box and sole.
Of course as expected these have limited availability, but are already becoming a collectors must have. These kicks are a collaboration on a collaborative collection, meaning: ebay $$$!!

The Nike Sportswear x Livestrong x Mister Cartoon Air Force 1 will launch at Midnight on July 2nd exclusively at Mister Cartoon’s tattoo shop, Last Laugh in Los Angeles, with a wider release on July 4th celebrating the first day of the Tour de France. With 100% of the proceeds from this release going towards the Lance Armstrong Foundation in the fight against Cancer.

MICHAEL JACKSON: 1958-2009 THANK YOU MJ XXX

So.......
where do i start?
Havn't blogged for a while due to the fact that i've been pretty vavcant. As we all know, Michael Jackson passed away in the morning of June 25th, and his death has recently taken the wind out of my sail :-(

I would like to take this time to celebrate his life, music, dance, and enormous worldwide influence that he had on millions of people. Weather or not you were a fan, there is NO denying that Micaal Jackson WAS MUSIC!! and in some way, impacted your life.

From the Thriller video, that today is still THE GREATEST music video EVER!!!, to the gravity defying lean in his Smooth Crinimal video, from the beutiful sound of Rock With You, to the thought provoking and challenging lyrics in Man In The Mirror, Black or White, Heal The World and many others, Michael has ALWAYS been a huge part of our lives.

Hailed as the KING OF POP, Michael Jackson took music and dance to bounderiers and places that never had been seen. To this day, his record breaking feats still stay unbeaten.

So to Michael, i say from the bottom of my heart
THANK YOU.
Thank you allowing me to share memories from my older siblings of dancing in the living room cutting up socks trying to moonwalk that i missed out on,
Thank you for the many times that you're music brought the family together, as seeing my mum, dad, and all my brothers and sister dancing together is something really special to me,
Thank you for all the times i felt like everything would be alright by just listening to anyone of your amazing songs, regardless of the situation,

THANK YOU!! FOR EVERYTHING YOU BROUGHT TO OUR LIVES. WE HAVE ALL BEEN BLESSED AND FOR THAT I AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL!!

May your soul Rest In Peace.
